Hiking Pilatus.
Oct. 7th. We went on a hike up
Mt. Pilatus. (2132 m/ 6994 ft). Mt. Pilatus is one of the more famous mountains near Lucern.
The sky was clear and the temperature quite comfortable. Perfect for a hike. The hike started around 11.00 and lasted nearly four hours.

What was really cool about this hike was that Erika and I finally got to use our hiking poles. For months we have seen the locals use these poles and we wanted to know what all the fuss was about. I can tell you that they are quite useful on the very steep sections of the mountain. If we ever want to be considered as semi-serious hikers this is one of the basic must haves.
The views from the top of the mountain were quite spectacular. Erika and I had a great time. Thankfully we took the Cog Train to the base of the mountain. I need to save my knees!
Greetings from the top of Switzerland.
